About Us

We are the Stone Soup Moving Feast – a dedicated non-profit in Ka’u, raising money to build a center for local children whose family lives are devastated by crystal meth. (“Ice”). Our long-term aim is to serve our whole community and the 70,000 foster children of Hawaii, through education towards the Pono (healthy balance) of sustainable living.

We believe in fun ways to raise money and that’s why we are holding the Stone Soup Moving Feast Creative Hearts Festival annually each year. Our 2011 festival was the first of many! Plan in advance to be at the next Creative Hearts festival September 28-30, 2012!

A feast for mind, body, heart and soul – the festival is part of our commitment to educate towards feeding the whole community from the A’ina. Visit our beautiful gardens, learn from speakers on aquaponics, fertilizers, bee-keeping, permaculture in Hawaii, and more!

An event to remember with entertainment for young and old, workshops, kumu blessings and the spectacular international Ogoh-Ogoh ceremony – cleansing away negativity and the evil of crystal meth – inspiring the aloha of community spirit.

All donations from the festival will go towards building the Stone Soup Center directly across the road from the festival.

Our A’ina and the spirit of Aloha are the guides for Stone Soup’s residential center – providing sustainable living skills through experience. The center will give the keiki (children) experience of agricultural sustainability and permaculture, creative arts, trauma counseling, essential life skills, and educational support – with recovery opportunities for the whole family. The center aims to offer employment and education towards sustainable living to local people in Ka’u – one of the poorest communities in the US.

We welcome everyone to join us!
Come to the festival, volunteer, donate or just send us good wishes!
